In this week’s assignments for the Unstoppable course, we have to look at mission statements, vision statements, and purposes in hopes of crafting our own personal purpose statement. As I read through others’ statements, I realize that I have my own taglines already in place for my 3 main sites. So let’s explore what those are…

Coding Geekette - 100% girl geek, all the time

As my blog name suggests, I’m a female geek, one who enjoys coding. As my tagline suggests, I am like this all of the time, unapologetically. So if I am doing something geeky, I am who I am and that’s all I can be.

Cleveland Tech Events - What’s happening in Cleveland’s tech community

This is my website to track what’s going on in Cleveland’s technical community. Over the years, I have also expanded to include some of the user groups and tech events happening in the Akron and Canton areas as well. What started as a website that tracked the 4-5 user groups that I attended in late 2008 has grown to be 60+ technical user groups in Cleveland, Akron, and Canton. This year, I sponsored a regional dev conference to help generate more visibility for our community and to hopefully inspire other communities to follow our lead and unite. I am a native Clevelander, and I’m proud of how our tech community comes together.

Cleveland Tech Consulting, LLC - Specializing in Technology Training, Online Presence, and General Technology Decisions

This is my website for my consulting work. My tagline covers all of the services I want to provide, without getting too specific.

My mission statement is the 1st sentence on the front page:

No matter the project, our main focus is on completing projects that help make our clients’ lives a bit easier – through IT process automation, code review, technical mentoring, team coaching, and general technology decisions.

This covers the main questions of (1) what do we do, (2) how do we do it, (3) for whom, and (4) with what value.

My Personal Mission Statement

As I craft my own personal mission statement, I know that the following things will be included:

  • Being me unapologetically
  • Being a servant leader, leading from the trenches
  • Bettering others’ lives through the use of my talents

Now for the wordsmith in me to craft it…
